Teen And Woman Injured In Separate Ridgewood Crashes Thursday Morning: Police

A teen boy and adult woman were injured by vehicles in separate incidents in Ridgewood Thursday, police said.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — An adult woman and male teenager were struck by vehicles in separate incidents in Ridgewood Thursday morning, with one summons issued, police said.

At 8:08 a.m., a 17-year-old male riding an electric bicycle collided with a vehicle on Ackerman Avenue near Lenox Avenue, said Captain Glenn Ender. The teen had minor injuries and was not taken to the hospital, Ender said. No summonses were issued.

At 8:27 a.m., Ender said, a 24-year-old woman was struck at the intersection of North Maple Avenue and East Ridgewood Avenue. She was taken to Valley Hospital and treated for minor injuries, Ender said. One summons was issued to the driver for failure to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Photographer Boyd A. Loving wrote that the teen may have been a student on the way school, and that he sustained a leg and wrist injury.
