Glen Rock Artist Joseph Terrone Paints Up Ridgewood

The landscape painter has an upcoming showcase at the Ridgewood Public Library in November

He kneels in front of Lucky Brand Jeans smearing warm greens and oranges on the kaleidoscope of colors that is now his pallet, gently dotting the canvas with a leaf just above a clocktower. Curious onlookers strut by, some stopping to ask: "Hey, what are you painting?"

On a clear, bright and brilliant fall day, they see – a swirling landscape scene of Ridgewood's landmark clock tower splitting Van Neste Square Park from the bustling concrete and brick downtown.

The man behind the scene is Joseph Terrone, a Glen Rock resident easily spotted by his trademark baseball cap. He blends a background in abstract art with the plein air movement, using bright, vivid colors to express his relationship with nature.
