Bids for GR HS Athletic Complex Work Pushed Back

School officials don't expect delays to renovation project

Bids to repair the will open later than initially expected, but officials say that itself shouldn't impact the construction time table.

Carlo Cella, a school board trustee on the facilities committee, said the bids for the project will now be opening on April 2, with a closing date of April 16. The district initially anticipated having an answer by March 26.

"My understanding is we're still planning on mobilizing by May 1st, maybe sooner," Cella said. "We don't believe it will have any impact on the schedule. As I've stated in the past, it's going to be highly dependent on the bid specs we get back from the winning bidder. The winning bidder can determine when they want to start...the issue is when they're going to complete. We'll know a lot more when we get the bids on April 2."
