Community Blood Services location in Paramus is close by and conveniently located, they provide an important service, and they are asking for your help.
"All eligible donors who give the gift of life can make a difference. One donation can save up to three lives," said Karen Ferriday, director of community affairs at Community Blood Services. "We are asking our volunteer blood donors to help save the lives of someone from their community by scheduling an appointment today."
According to Ferriday, in recent weeks there has been less than a two-day supply of blood on the shelves. All types are needed in order to meet the needs of patients at area hospitals, she said, especially O negative, O positive and B negative. Also, platelets are needed to treat patients diagnosed with cancer or other blood disorders.

As a bonus, CBS is offering a Community Blood Services black pullover sweatshirt when you donate blood or platelets from Sunday, Oct. 23, through Wednesday, Oct. 26, at any of their New Jersey donor centers.
"Blood donors are our everyday heroes, saving lives in our community all year long. Recognizing them with a comfy sweatshirt as autumn arrives and the temperatures begin to drop is our way of saying thank you for their unselfish donations," said Ferriday.
