Cleaning Woman Stole Checks From Glen Rock Homes: Police
Monica Gonzalez, 39, was charged with theft and forgery.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — An employee of a borough cleaning service was arrested Thursday after she stole and cashed 10 checks from local homes, police announced.
Monica Gonzalez, 39, of Hopatcong was charged with theft and forgery stemming from an investigation into checks that were stolen from three Glen Rock homes, said Chief Dean Ackermann.
Detective Lucas Doney began investigating the thefts in October 2018 when the owner of the business reported that she thought one of her employees was stealing checks from clients' homes, Ackermann said.

Dooney found other victims in Glen Rock and other communities, Ackerman said. It took more than a month to find Gonzalez because she did not maintain one home address, Ackermann said.
Gonzalez surrendered to police with her attorney. She is due in Bergen County Central Judicial Processing Court in Hackensack Feb. 22.
