Devils Hall of Famer Ken Daneyko Assists Ridgewood Hockey
Annual "Scoops Night" raised over $1400 to help fund the program, pay for busing and ice rental time
The Ridgewood hockey community hosted its annual "Scoops Night" at last Monday and shared some ice (cream) time with former Devils star Ken Daneyko. The former Devil, a three-time Stanley Cup winner and Hall of Famer, joined the boys for some photos and autographs.
The evening "netted" the hockey program $1,445 from ice cream, apparel and raffle sales. Funds will help the program with busing and ice rental time. The NJ Devils organization donated three raffle items, including a Zach Parise signed jersey and stick, as well as an Ilya Kovalchuk signed puck.
Raffle tickets for the Devils items and RHS hockey apparel will continue to be sold at home games, held at the Ice House in Hackensack.
Make sure to stop by for the season openers in December. The JV squad plays an away game against Northern Highlands at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9. The varsity boys play Saturday, Dec. 10 at 8:45 p.m. against Dumont.
