Downed Power Line Starts Brush Fire In Bergen County: Police
A brush fire and a bank deposit discrepancy were reported in the past week in Glen Rock, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — In the past week, a brush fire and a bank deposit discrepancy were reported out of Glen Rock. The following information was summarized from records of the Glen Rock Police Department.
Sept. 9: Police, along with Glen Rock firefighters, were dispatched to a brush fire caused by downed utility wires at the 200 block of Elmwood Avenue. Responding units found that the fire was out upon arrival; however, a home was damaged when a delivery truck struck the power lines and pulled them from the structure. The unidentified truck left the area prior to response of police and fire personnel. The scene was rendered safe and turned over to Public Service Enterprise Group, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said.
A Fair Lawn resident reported a discrepancy with a deposit made via an ATM at Bank of America on Rock Road in Glen Rock. The complainant alleged $1,000 was not property credited to their account; however, the bank's records reportedly do not coincide with this claim. The matter was documented at the request of the complainant. This is strictly a civil matter. As such, Glen Rock police cannot become further involved, Ackermann said.
