Driver Crashed Sportscar In Ridgewood After Hitting Truck In Glen Rock, Police Say

A man crashed his car in Glen Rock, drove away, and then crashed into poles in Ridgewood, police said this week.

RIDGEWOOD, NJ — A man was charged with leaving the scene of an accident after he crashed his sportscar into a truck in Glen Rock, left the scene, and then crashed into two utility poles in Ridgewood, police said.

Police in Glen Rock said they headed to Ackerman and Maple avenues just before 10:30 a.m. on Feb. 11 on a report of a car smashing into a DPW truck and leaving.

They said that the vehicle, described as a “blue sports car," fled north after being driven in an "erratic manner."

As Glen Rock police headed to the scene, the car crashed into two utility poles on the 300 block of South Maple Avenue in Ridgewood, said police.

Luis A. Balseca, age 53, of Paramus was issued summonses for leaving the scene of an accident, failure to report an accident, and careless driving, the Glen Rock police said.
