Ben Franklin Middle School will be hosting a suicide prevention discussion and presentation in light of recent events in the village involving Tyler Clementi, but also the two suicides from RHS students within the past year.
Parents, staff and community members are invited to see Scott Fritz and Maureen Underwood of the Society for Prevention of Teen Suicide answer questions and hold the seminar, titled "Not My Kid: What Every Parent Should Know About Youth Suicide Prevention".
Fritz is a father who lost a child to suicide, and a founder of the society; Underwood is a clinical social care worker and recognized expert in preventing youth suicides.
