NORTH JERSEY, NJ — If you're somewhere in North Jersey this weekend and you hear fireworks, don't be surprised.

Residents on both the New York City and New Jersey sides of the Hudson River often take to social media to ask where the fireworks are coming from.

Fireworks can spook pets and wake babies, so it's good to have fair warning.

Wyckoff

Wyckoff will hold an annual fireworks celebration on Saturday night with a DJ and beer garden. The event is being held at Memorial Field.

The event starts at 6 p.m. and fireworks are expected to start around 8. More details are here.

Hawthorne

The town of Hawthorne's 14th annual "Hawthorne Day" begins at noon and has a full schedule of bands. It takes place at the pool complex.
