Four Injured in Three-Car Accident on Franklin and Chestnut
Police investigating cause of crash
Police are investigating the cause of a three-car accident that sent four people to the hospital on Saturday night shortly before 11 p.m.
A crowd gathered at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and Chestnut Street to watch emergency responders and police clear the pileup. A gold Suzuki SUV with rear-end damage had a late-model Toyoto Corolla on its bumper. The Toyota's hood crunched up while its rear suffered minor damage caused by an apparent strike by a late model BMW behind it. The airbags of the BMW deployed and its front was also damaged in the accident
Glass and plastic lay beside the vehicles and a tow truck arrived at the scene shortly before the road fully opened, around 11:30 p.m.

Lt. Todd Harris said to his knowledge, none of the four injuries were considered life-threatening and the department will continue to investigate what caused the accident.
