'Get A Grip' About Taylor Swift/Kelce Super Bowl Conspiracies, Says Bergen County Senator
A state senator in Bergen County said that conspiracies about Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce, and the Super Bowl are "whackadoo."

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — For years, celebrities have run for president and U.S. Senate, but the possibility that singer Taylor Swift — and her Super Bowl-bound boyfriend, Travis Kelce —may express political opinions during this election cycle has drawn jeers and conspiracy theories from prominent politicians and personalities.
Two weeks ago, former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy posted on Twitter, "I wonder who’s going to win the Super Bowl next month. And I wonder if there’s a major presidential endorsement coming from an artificially culturally propped-up couple..."
Other influential Republicans on Twitter suggested that Swift's prominence was "not organic" or a "government psyop," despite the fact that she's been growing her fanbase since her 2006 debut album. In response, other Republican politicians such as Arnold Schwarzenegger and Nikki Haley used terms like "bizarre" to describe the theories.

A Republican legislator representing Bergen County responded this week by saying the situation is out of control.
"A sure sign people need to put down their iPhones, stop watching 24 hour a day news programs and need to take breaks from social media?" posted 39th Dist. State Sen. Holly Schepisi this week, "The fact that grown ass adults are actually arguing over Taylor Swift, believing whackadoo conspiracy theories about the Super Bowl and that some adults are getting twisted by her being shown attending her boyfriend’s football games."

She added, "People need to get a grip. Deep breaths everyone."
Several commenters agreed with her, while others suggested that it was more important to argue over Taylor Ham (or is it pork roll?) in New Jersey.
There's no denying Swift's influence, as she has encouraged her fan base to register and vote. But will she attend Super Bowl LVIII this Sunday? After her Tokyo concert ended Saturday morning, she was expected to return to the U.S.
The game starts at 6:30 p.m. Eastern and can be viewed on CBS. See the list here of places you can watch it in Bergen County.
