Girl Scouts Create Litter Awareness Campaign
Troop 152 of Ridge Elementary putting up posters in the hopes of reducing litter on village fields
The young ladies of Junior Girl Scout Troop 152 at Ridge School told the Village Council Wednesday night its recent campaign to combat littering is in full swing.
Working with Parks and Recreation Department heads Tim Cronin and Nancy Bigos, the nine 5th grade Girl Scouts said they intend to make Ridgewood an even more beautiful place than it already is.
"We’ve noticed that there is always litter," ranging from soda and water bottles to snack wrappers and other items, one young Girl Scout told the council. "This is upsetting to us and we decided to do something about it by starting our own anti-litter campaign as part of our Bronze Leadership Award."

The Scouts said they've spoken to community leaders, other Girl Scouts and sports coaches using the fields in an effort to quell literring issues.
And they'll be back at the council dais, they vowed. "We’ll be back in the spring to let you know how we’re doing."
