Glen Rock Blotter: Electrical Panel Starts Fire, Bike Stolen

Also, a man was found injured and taken to an area hospital after going missing.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — Between April 13 and April 19, police in Glenn Rock responded to 327 calls for service. Police have pared down those calls and provided the highlights below.

On April 13 at 12:10 p.m., family members of a 38-year-old Glen Rock man reported him missing. He was found the following day around 11:30 a.m. at the 7-Eleven in Hawthorne. Police said the man was injured, and he was transported to St. Joseph's Medical Center in Paterson. Police alerted his family that he had been found.

On April 13 around 6:25 p.m., police and firefighters in Glen Rock reported to a home in the 200 block of Glen Avenue after a fire broke out. The person living in the home told 911 dispatchers that flames were coming from a breaker panel in the basement.

Police put out the fire with an extinguisher. PSE&G, a private electrician and firefighters ensured the home was safe until repairs could be completed.

On April 14 at 8:04 p.m., a man called Glen Rock police to report his bicycle had been stolen. He told police he left the bike unattended on the dead end of Diamond Court around 7 p.m. When he returned 20 minutes later, the bike was gone.

Police said the man did not know the make or model of the bicycle, but he said it was about 10-years-old, black and gray, and had gears on both sides. Police identified no known witnesses.
