High School Bands to Rock the Square Friday Night
New youth group giving teens a reason to stay out of trouble
Your teens won't have an excuse that they have nothing to do tonight thanks to a new student civic organization in town.
"Back Woods," the student arm of The Ridgewood Guild, presents its first jab at keeping kids out of trouble Friday night with four high school bands rocking .
"They're putting on events to give high school students something to do on weekends as opposed to going out and getting into trouble," said Paul Vagianos, one of the many organizers.

The student committee works in concert with RHS Principal Jack Lorenz, as well as Vagianos, Stephen Zrike and others.
Beginning at 7:30 p.m. the amps will boom into the Ridgewood night, ending at 10 p.m. Admission is $5 and the park will be closed off, though there will be 20-25 chaperons and police presence as well.

From 10 p.m. to midnight six restaurants (, , , , , and ) will be offering student discounts, an enticement to perhaps stay out late but with great food and great company.
"We're so excited to be putting this together," said Vagianos. "The students have done an incredible job of organizing this. It's going to be a great event."
Organizers say they expect hundreds of kids to flock to The Square on Friday. But this isn't a one-time thing, either.
"On June 10th we're going to be doing the same thing but having a Movie Night in the park," Vagianos said.
