Historic 1991 RHS Football Team Holds Reunion
The first state champs in village football had its 20th reunion at halftime on Saturday
About 20 members of the first football team to take home a state championship in Ridgewood celebrated its 20th anniversary reunion at the home opener against Ramapo on Saturday. The 1991 Ridgewood High School Maroons, led by Coach Chuck Johnson, took home a Group IV State Title that year, defeating North Bergen.
The 1991 team celebrated at the Knights of Columbus after the game, which resulted in a Ramapo victory over the 2011 Ridgewood Maroons.
