Bon Jovi's 'Red, White, And Jersey' Features These Garden State Towns

The video for Jon Bon Jovi's new single, released over the holiday weekend, features sites in Teaneck, Shrewsbury, and more.

NORTH JERSEY, NJ — Middletown-based rocker Jon Bon Jovi's got a new song out — his first to be released in more than a year — called "Red, White, and Jersey." But it's not political.

The song, from his new album "Forever," was released just before Labor Day weekend, along with "Hollow Man," a collaboration with Bruce Springsteen.

"Red, White, And Jersey" is a love story about a longtime couple who visit the Jersey Shore and other Garden State locales.

The video shows Teaneck sites identified as Teaneck Cinemas and Lark Street Music. It also flashes to the Americana Diner in Shrewsbury, and to the Shore.

The lyrics tell us: "Yeah, we held on tight, lookin' up all night /At the lights of New York City /When you're seventeen, those basic dreams... /We'll always be red, white, and Jersey."

Jon Bongiovi, 63, grew up in Sayreville and had his first big radio hit with "Runaway" in 1984.

He’s become a philanthropist, running pay-what-you-can-afford restaurants, including on the Rutgers campus. But his "Soul Kitchen" in Ocean County may close in January, the rocker said.
