Letter: A Thanks to Those Who Participated in Successful 'Best Burger' Event

Proceeds went to Ridgewood Historical Society

To the Editor:

This past Saturday, June 11, more than 185 people came out to the Schoolhouse Museum on Glen Avenue .

When we first conceived of this event, we knew it would take work – a lot of work! However it would take more than just our efforts to make this event a success. It would take the active participation, dedication, time and effort of the five restaurants involved to ensure the event’s success.

And the restaurants – (E. Ridgewood Ave.); the newly opened Park West Tavern (Oak St.); (Chestnut St.); . (Broad St.); and (Wilsey Sq.), stepped up...in fact they stepped up BIG!

Each and every restaurant gladly and proudly donated food, personnel, equipment and effort to this event to ensure its success. And the event was a success – a huge success - and these restaurants deserve the credit.

From the Ridgewood Historical Society, they deserve our overwhelming thanks and sincere gratitude. From the community, they deserve our admiration and respect. For in a difficult financial climate they unwaveringly participated in, committed to, and supported this event. They amply demonstrated what Ridgewood “is all about”.

Again, on behalf of the Ridgewood Historical Society, we say “Thank You”.
