Luxury Clothing Chain Balenciaga Opens 10,000-Square Foot Store In American Dream

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — An international luxury clothing and accessory brand has opened a 10,000-square-foot store in the American Dream Mall.

Balenciaga opened its two-level store on Friday, Feb. 2 at the mall, located in East Rutherford.

According to a release from the mall, the "layout that follows the brand’s experiential Raw Architecture concept ...The rough interior design serves as a stark backdrop for the latest Balenciaga men’s and women’s ready-to wear, shoes, bags, accessories, eyewear, and jewelry collections."

The release elaborated on the decor: "Details reference the dark grouting and standardized tiling of underground metro stations and warehouse floors that have been work-worn to a dull shine and veined with cracks. An untreated concrete staircase with a welded steel railing joins the two floors, one flanked by deliberately water-damaged velvet curtains and aged aluminum displays. Warm-toned lamps throughout are contrasted by zenithal ceiling systems that effect natural light filtering in from above. Partitions with exposed edges, hanging pipe racks, and recycled leather benches add to the illusion of an abandoned, even derelict space."

For now, the store is open 11-7 Monday through Friday, 11-8 Saturday and closed Sunday. Find out more details here.
