Man's Check Was Altered After He Mailed It From Glen Rock: Police
The check was originally written for $43, but it was altered to $7,000, police said.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — A borough man reported to police Saturday that a check he mailed from the mailbox on West Plaza had been altered.
He said the check had been altered to originally be for $43 to $7,000, and made payable to someone he did not know, police said.
The man mailed the check Jan. 31 from the post office mailbox on West Plaza near the Source Building, police said.
