Jazz Performer Marlene VerPlanck at Kasschau Shell Tuesday Tonight
A little jazz entertainment under the stars is sure to liven up your night
Looking for something to do tonight? Go relax on the grass in front of the Kasschau Memorial Shell and listen to Marlene VerPlanck perform in part of the Free Summer Entertainment Under the Stars series.
VerPlanck will be presenting songs from her newest CD, "One Dream At A Time," alongside the Standards & Jazz Trio. She’s a crooner who’s been commended by “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” songwriter Hugh Martin for her commitment to authenticity, saying, "We know our songs are safe in the hands of Marlene VerPlanck, and she will sing them better than anyone else."
“One Dream At A Time” is VerPlanck's first album since her late husband and music arranger’s death, according to her website. It contains two songs she found on her husband’s messy desk postmortem. “Billy VerPlanck's spirit is all through this recording,” the Wall Street Journal described.
