Masked Trio Pistol-Whipped, Robbed Victim After Drug Deal in Lodi, Prosecutors Say
The victim was threatened with a handgun and hit with it before running to safety, Bergen County prosecutors said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Three people have been charged with home invasion burglary after they threatened a person with a handgun and stole money and marijuana from a Lodi apartment after a drug sale, prosecutors said.
Kas A. Mallory, 27, of Wallington, and Trevonn Nevers, 27, of River Edge, were arrested Dec. 10 in the incident, which took place in the Bel Vista Court Apartment Complex Oct. 15, the Bergen County Prosecutor's Office said Wednesday.
A 17-year-old who was being held on an unrelated matter was also charged.

A fourth person, 20-year-old Nyla J. King, was charged with receiving stolen property, prosecutors said.
Lodi police went to the complex about 8 p.m. on Oct. 15 after receiving reports of someone screaming, prosecutors said.

The victim was confronted by three people wearing masks after making a marijuana sale, prosecutors said. One of the three hit the victim with a firearm, but the victim broke free and ran to safety, prosecutors said.
The other two suspects stayed behind and stole money and marijuana from the apartment, prosecutors said. Then the trio took off in a Hyundai Santa Fe, they said.
Nevers and Mallory were arrested in their homes on Dec. 10 with the help of a SWAT Team, prosecutors said. They were taken to the Bergen County jail to await a court appearance.
Authorities found a stolen semi-automatic Glock 9mm handgun, along with an extended drum magazine and ammunition, during a search at Mallory's home, prosecutors said.
Mallory and Nevers were charged with first-degree home invasion burglary, first-degree armed robbery, aggravated assault by pointing a firearm, aggravated assault, and weapons charges, prosecutors said. Mallory was also charged with third-degree receiving stolen property.
The teen was charged with juvenile delinquency — specifically, first-degree home invasion burglary, armed robbery, aggravated assault, and aggravated assault by pointing a firearm — said prosecutors.
King, whom prosecutors said lives with Mallory, was charged with third-degree receiving stolen property and fourth-degree possession of a large capacity magazine, prosecutors said. She was released on her own recognizance to await a future court appearance.
