RIDGEWOOD, NJ — Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino, who rose to fame in the "Jersey Shore" reality TV show and then spent time in prison for tax evasion, is coming to Bergen County next month to promote his new tell-all memoir. In order to meet him, you have to order the book.

His appearance comes a week before Christmas, so you can get your copy of "Reality Check" signed just in time.

"Divulging everything from drug-fueled orgies to what really happened behind the scenes of reality television’s most loved and dysfunctional family, Mike’s book reveals all for the first time," says the bookstore's website.

Sorrentino was one of the original houseguests in the premiere of the "Jersey Shore" series on MTV in 2009. His catch phrases and abundant self-confidence made him a star, and sometimes a punchline.

In 2018, Sorrentino, then 36, and his brother Marc, 38, pleaded guilty in federal court in Newark to one count each of tax evasion. Sorrentino admitted taking actions to conceal some of his income to avoid paying taxes on it. He had first been indicted in 2014 and again in 2017.

He left prison in early 2020. He announced later that year that he and wife Lauren, who live in Holmdel, would have a baby boy.

This year, he made an appearance in Hazlet to help out a local nonprofit to support people struggling with addiction.
