Monday: Board of Education Reorganization Meeting

Board will appoint president, vice president and swear in Sheila Brogan and Christina Krauss

1) The new-look school board will get together at 7:30 p.m. for its reorganization meeting at the Education Center on Cottage Place. The board will be nominating and selecting the president and vice president, currently held by sitting members Michele Lenhard and Bob Hutton, respectively.

2) Independent senior center Prospect House, of SHARE Inc., celebrated the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. The group feasted on fried chicken, shrimp and ribs from Chicken Galore of Fair Lawn while president of SHARE Hans-Jürgen Lehmann poured mango grapefruit punch, some with and some without rum. Residents and family were on hand.  There is a waiting list for SHARE Inc. which provides independent living for 14 residents in two of Ridgewood's stately mansions. 3) The boys varsity baseball team will play Bergen Academy at 4:15 p.m, as will the boys tennis team and the girls softball team. The boys golf team takes on Ramapo at 4:00 p.m.

4) The West Side will be receiving rear yard pickup on Monday, and Area A will have yard waste picked up while Area 1 will have cardboard and commingled bottles scooped away.

5) There's a nice story that appeared on the Sunday edition of The Record about a group of compassionate Ridgewood residents that built a wheelchair ramp and are working on a few other home projects for a Paterson man stricken with Lou Gerhig's Disease.
