New Kind Of Macy's Store To Open In Bergen County Next Weekend, With Giveaways

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Macy’s will celebrate the grand opening of its new store at Interstate Shopping Center in Ramsey on Saturday, May 25, with giveaways and a celebration, a spokesperson said.

The store is a "new format store," they said. But what exactly does that mean?

Mainly, the store will be smaller, and it will also feature "pop-up shops" in collaboration with local businesses.

A company spokesperson explained, "Macy's new format stores offer a convenient and distinct shopping experience in an open environment that is roughly one fifth the size of the full-line stores. Located in high-traffic shopping centers, the stores offer a curated assortment of top brands, the latest trends and convenient services. The stores collaborate with local businesses to create pop-up shops and events that cater to customer preferences."

The company announced a plan in October 2023, to "accelerate the expansion of our Macy’s new format stores," opening up to 30 additional locations through 2025.

The new Macy's will host a private shopping event for the local Boys and Girls Club on Thursday, May 23, and then hold a ribbon cutting and grand opening on Saturday, May 25, at 9:45 a.m.

"Customers can enjoy giveaways, music, and more while they shop," the company said.

The new store will feature brands like Levi’s, MAC, and Calvin Klein, as well as Macy’s private brands, such as INC, Bar III, And Now This, On 34th, and the newest private brand, State of Day.

The company said, "Customers can enjoy all the benefits of the full-line Macy’s stores, including the 'At Your Service' desk, which helps with bill payments, returns, exchanges, and more. They can also take advantage of 'Buy Online Pickup In-store' and curbside options for items available on Macys.com. Customers can continue to enroll, earn and redeem Star Rewards and they can also use their Macy's credit card at all Macy’s locations."

The private Boys and Girls Club event will allow 25 families to shop.

The store is located at 225 Interstate Shopping Center, Ramsey, NJ 07446.
