NJ Man Killed, Baby Injured In Crash With Tractor-Trailer On Turnpike Sunday: Police
A man was killed and a toddler taken to the hospital Sunday night after a crash on the Turnpike in Bergen County, police said.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A Nutley man was killed and a toddler injured when his car slammed into a tractor-trailer on the New Jersey Turnpike on Sunday night, the state police said.
Justin Veras, 34, was heading northbound in his Toyota Camry around 9:08 p.m. Saturday when he struck the rear of a Kenworth tractor-trailer that was disabled in the right lane near milepost 121.4 in Fort Lee, said State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron.
The 20-month-old child was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, Lebron said.

Police declined to reveal whether the two were related, and police will not release additional details at this time, they said.
The crash remains under investigation.
