One Woman Hospitalized in Cooking Accident at Senior Center
One woman was transported to the hospital for smoke inhalation after an unattended cooking stove smoked Ridge Crest.
One woman was transported to the hospital Monday night after a cooking stove was left unattended and smoked up the second story of the , firefighters reported.
"There was just smoke, no fire," Ridgewood Fire Department Lt. Chris DuFlocq said at the scene. "Everything was contained to the stove."
The injured woman, a neighboring tenant, had a pre-existing medical condition and suffered from smoke inhalation, he said. She was taken to Valley Hospital.

Firefighters asked residents to stay in their rooms while the department ventilated the western section of the second floor with large fans. No property was damaged, DuFlocq said. The smoke alarm alerted the department a few minutes past 8:30 p.m., fire officials said.
