HARRINGTON PARK, NJ – A Bergen County woman was creeped out over the weekend after a Pennywise doll – the murderous clown from Stephen King’s “It” – mysteriously landed in her backyard.

On Saturday afternoon, Renee Jensen was relaxing outside with her boyfriend when she spotted the doll, whose mouth was lined with fake blood and had black, cryptic lettering on its forehead.

The 42-year-old mother told NJ.com she wasn’t sure how the evil effigy wound up in her yard since her one adjoining neighbor wasn’t home on Saturday.

She shared her story to a Bergen County Facebook group, where people urged her to contact police in case it was something more than a prank. Responding officers were also spooked and recommended Jensen get rid of the Pennywise plush.

After the cops left, Jensen said she tried to set the doll on fire, but it wouldn’t burn. After she covered it in olive oil and tossed the clown into burning newspaper, it ignited.

Jensen said the incident unnerved her to the point where she locked her bedroom door that night and slept with a knife by her side.

“It’s funny, but it was creepy,” she told NJ.com.

A sequel to “It” is due out in theaters on Sept. 6, however Jensen, who owns a reiki business in Ridgewood, said she has second thoughts about catching the flick.
