Purses Found On 2 Streets In Glen Rock; Turns Out They're From Stolen Car
Purses were found in the street in Bergen County last week. Police determined they were from a resident's stolen car.
GLEN ROCK, NJ — After people began noticing purses and other belongings scattered on two Glen Rock streets last Monday morning, police found that they were from car that had been stolen about an hour earlier, they said.
Police said they got reports around 8:03 a.m. from a resident and from Department of Public workers employees about "purses and other personal belongings that were dumped in the roadway on Highland Road and Fairmont Avenue."
Officer Andrew Magro determined that they belonged to a resident on a nearby road. The person said their 2019 Audi had been stolen from their driveway, although they weren't aware of the theft until police came by.

Police determined that the car had been left unlocked with the key fob inside and contained two purses, $800 in cash, credit cards, and personal identification.
The resident said they had left from only 6 to 6:17 a.m. that morning.

Home video surveillance showed that the car was taken some time between 6:53 and 6:56 a.m., but the video didn't show the suspect.
Later in the morning, a resident on the 100 block of Woodvale Road reported having video surveillance of a man attempting to enter a vehicle in their driveway around 7 a.m. The car was locked so the person couldn't get in.
The video also showed images of the stolen car and another Audi following it.
At 10:28 a.m., the Newark Police Department recovered the stolen Audi Q7, parked on a street with extensive damage, police said.
It was towed to an impound lot. No suspects were found in the area.
