GLEN ROCK, NJ — A railroad crossing in Glen Rock will close for construction for a week, and the local police have sent out information about detours.

From Thursday, Aug. 1, 2024 to Thursday, Aug. 8, weather permitting, the NJ Transit railroad crossing at the Bergen County Line on Rock Road will be closed for construction, police said.

Two police officers will be assigned to the construction detail for the first two days to assist with traffic control for the start of the project, they said.

The detour for the project will be:

  • Westbound traffic on Rock Road will be detoured down Maple Avenue to Glen Avenue and back to Rock Road. There will be a soft road closure on Rock Road at Maple Avenue and a hard closure on Rock Road at Harding Plaza.
  • Eastbound traffic on Rock Road will be detoured down Glen Avenue to Maple Avenue and back to Rock Road. There will be a soft road closure on Rock Road at Glen Avenue and a hard closure on Rock Road at West Plaza.

Shoppers will be able to access stores on Rock Road between Glen Avenue and the railroad tracks during construction, police said.
