Three Ridgewood High School students hoping to serve in prestigious military colleges.

Congressman Scott Garrett (R-5) has nominated three Ridgewood High School students for admittance to the prestigious U.S. service academies, the congressman announced Thursday.

The conservative Republican nominated Francis Paleno (U.S. Naval Academy), Dong Jin "David" Suh (U.S. Naval Academy) and James M. Lee (U.S. Millitary Academy) at a ceremony at Ramapo College on April 1. Garrett nominated a total of 40 students from the 5th Congressional district.

“I want to congratulate this year’s nominees and commend them for their hard work, perseverance and dedication during this year’s nominating process,” said Garrett in a news release. “If admitted, our prestigious service academies will develop these young men and women into some of our country’s greatest leaders. No matter what the future holds, I am proud of their selfless dedication to serving our great country. I wish the applicants all the best as they continue with the application process.”
