The Ridgewood News reports $550,000 in bonding has been reduced to $380,000 after concerns were expressed last week
According to a report in The Ridgewood News, the level of bonding to repair Village Hall has been reduced by $150,000.
Deputy Mayor Tom Riche at last week's council meeting when projected costs to restore the municipal building from flood damage were just $275,000.
Village Manager Ken Gabbert last week defended the bonded level, saying any leftover funds could be allocated to other capital projects.

On Wednesday, reports The Ridgewood News, bond notes were reduced to $380,000 after a $20,000 downpayment from the village's capital budget (see comment below).
As reported in Patch, the village has plans to replace sheetrock with water-proof concrete blocks raised to 64 inches, among other work. Replacing sheetrock alone would have cost an estimated $140,000, officials previously stated. The new work should protect the village from a 125-year flood event, according to administrators. There are also possible plans to work on the exterior flood wall.
