Midland Park, Ridgewood Conducting Live Fire Drill at Kuiken Bros.

Don't be alarmed if you see what appears to be a fire next Sunday, April 15 at Kuiken Brothers Lumber Yard in Midland Park.

Chief Jim Van Goor said Ridgewood and several other towns will be doing a live drill starting at 9 a.m. A smoke machine in a shed will simulate a fire, and five or six other departments will assist, he said. Midland Park will be leading the drill, Chief Mark Berninger said in an e-mail.

Traffic is likely to be diverted from Lake St. and part of Goffle Rd., Van Goor said. Residents/businesses in the immediate area will be notified. Travelers should plan alternate routes on Sunday.
