Ridgewood Police Blotter: Thefts, Home Break-Ins
Business burglaries; Home burglaries; Stolen package; Stolen Santa Claus cut-out.

The following is a press release from the Ridgewood Police Department:
- 12/15/14 - 9:30 a.m. - Patrol Officers were called to a business on Dayton Street which was burglarized at some point over the weekend. Cash was taken from one of the offices within the building.
- 12/15/14 - 9:40 a.m. - Police were sent on an activated burglar alarm and found an open door at the Banta Street residence. The resident reported that jewelry was stolen.
- 12/16/14 - 7 a.m. - Police responded to a Godwin Avenue business whose front door had been smashed in. An undetermined amount of liquor was stolen from the business.
- 12/16/14 - A Kenilworth Road resident reported that they noticed one of their window screens had been cut, but there was no entry gained to the household.
- 12/17/14 - A Circle Ave resident reported that she never received a package that was delivered on Dec. 16 and left near her front door.
- 12/20/14 - A Hudson Street business reported someone had removed their 8 feet tall cardboard cutout of Santa Claus.
- 12/23/14 - A Ridgewood Avenue business reported that someone had stolen merchandise on Dec. 19 at about 6 p.m. The actor is described as a white male in his mid-to-late thirties with dark reddish-brown hair, and a light mustache and beard. If anyone has information regarding this actor, contact the Ridgewood Detective Bureau at 201-251-4537.
- 12/26/14 - 10:40 p.m. - A South Pleasant Avenue resident reported that their home had been burglarized while they were out for a few hours. Various personal items including a computer and cash were stolen from the home.
All the incidents are being investigated by the Bergen County Crime Scene Investigation unit and the Ridgewood Police Department Detective Bureau.
The Ridgewood Police Department reminds residents to turn lights and radios or televisions on when they are not home to make sure their house always looks lived in.
