Ridgewood Police Investigating Report of Alleged Sexual Assault

are investigating a report of an alleged sexual assault on a 19-year-old female early Monday morning.

Details on the alleged incident are scarce, but Cpt. Jacqueline Luthcke said a call came in at 12:32 a.m. Monday that a 19-year-old Paterson woman alleged she was sexually assaulted at a residence on S. Van Dien Avenue.

Luthcke said no arrests have been made at this point, though a suspect has been questioned. The suspect's identity is being withheld until charges are filed, Luthcke said.

The 19-year-old woman was treated at and has since been released, Luthcke said. Police declined to offer further details, citing an active investigation.
