Ridgewood Presents BOE Budget to Public on Monday
Voters have their say on the $90 million budget April 17

Residents in the village are among the few in the state to decide on the largest portion of their tax bill. On Monday night, they're encouraged to attend the public hearing on the .
According to statements by district officials, no layoffs in staffing or programming are included in the proposed budget, which will drive taxes up $195 for the average resident with a home assessed at $794,000. The allowed rise in taxes is under the state-mandated 2 percent cap levy.
That's not to say there aren't changes included in the FY 2012-2013 budget. Nine aides are scheduled to be relieved of duty, and the district has aims to transform its science curriculum at the elementary and middle school levels.

– for two school board seats – is scheduled for Thursday, March 29 at 7:30 p.m. Elections are held on April 17. Voters determine both the budget (if it's defeated, the village council can make further cuts) and the school elections.
