Ridgewood Teen Completes Long Distance Swim in California

Charlotte Samuels, a high school student from Ridgewood, has completed the second leg of the so-called "Triple Crown" of swimming.

Charlotte Samuels, a 16-year-old high school student from Ridgewood, has completed the second part of her quest to become the youngest person ever to finish the ”Triple Crown” of swimming.

Northjersey.com is reporting that Samuels has officially completed the 20.2 mile swim between Catalina Island and the Southern California coastline, after almost twenty grueling hours swimming overnight in the cool Pacific.

Samuels was also stung multiple times by jellyfish throughout the swim, but was able to see herself through to the finish line at Rancho Palos Verdes beach.
