School Boards to Tackle Budgets, Capital Projects
Glen Rock to discuss drainage issues, Ridgewood may move to November elections

Both the Ridgewood and Glen Rock school boards will have some weighty discussions going on Monday night.
In , the agenda calls for a presentation on curriculum and instruction by Kathleen Regan, Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
The board will also continue discussion on the at the high school fields (which have led to resident suspicion that the high school graduation will not be held outside – more on that later) and a final touchup on the school calendar for 2012-2013.

Ridgewood might be on moving elections to November.
In Dec. of 2011, passed a resolution stating it would not be interested in moving elections to November, which would allow the board to pass a school budget with a 2 percent tax raise without a public vote. The change may also extend the terms of BOE VP Bob Hutton (who originally called for keeping elections in April) and .

Also on the list of things to do, the school board will be hearing from a rep at the NJ School Boards Association on the State Aid and School Fairness Act, which many say is the reason taxes here are just so darn high. A Republican bill, crafted by Sen. Michael Doherty (R-23), .
With budgets in mind, the Ridgewood BOE will again hear from administrators on the , this time delving into tuition, transportation, health benefits and more.
The Ridgewood BOE meeting is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. start time; Glen Rock's public portion should begin at about 8 p.m.
