Snow And Ice Expected In Bergen County In Morning, And Twice More In Next Week

A winter weather advisory was issued for Bergen County, and two bigger storms are predicted after that. See the timing.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — At least two rounds of snow and sleet are in the forecast for this week through Sunday, according to forecasters.

And the middle of next week may see an even bigger dump.

A winter weather advisory was issued for Bergen County starting at 4 a.m. on Thursday and running through 1 p.m. in the afternoon. Expect slippery roads Thursday morning.

Expect another accumulation on Saturday, and a multi-day storm possibly the middle of next week.

Here's what's expected:

  • Early Thursday morning: Snow after 4 a.m. A 60 percent chance of precipitation. Accumulation of less than 1 inch.
  • Thursday: Rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 1 p.m., then a chance of rain between 1-4 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1-2 inches possible.
  • Saturday And Super Bowl Sunday: 50 percent chance of snow before 10 p.m. Saturday. Then snow, freezing rain, and sleet. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Sunday, a 50 percent chance of rain before 4 p.m.
  • Midweek next week: Early forecasts say North Jersey may get hit with freezing rain or snow between Tuesday and Thursday. Come back to Patch for updates.
