Sunday: Festival at Christ Church

Also check out Newark Bears game to defeat Pancreatic Cancer

1) Christ Church with games, food and all sorts of fun stuff beginning at 11:30 a.m. and ending at 2:30 p.m. Admission is free.

2) You may remember some of the large pots around East Ridgewood Avenue. They were there largely collecting bits of trash and cigarette butts. But now, thanks to Project Pride, there are beautiful flowers in new pots. Hard to argue against that improvement.

3) So the rapture was gloriously . . . absent. On Sunday, look forward to mostly cloudy skies around 67 degrees. At night, there's a 50 percent chance of precipitation and thunderstorms.

4) At around 10 p.m. by the train station police were tending to an apparently drunken, shirtless man who had fallen and bloodied his face. Injuries appeared minor.

5) It's the event down in Newark, where dozens of Ridgewood families will be watching Hank's Yanks (of Steinbrenner lore, of course) and the Bears raise money to cure pancreatic cancer. Tickets are $10 and the game begins at 1 p.m.
