Sunday: Wiffle for Cancer, Fmr. Governor Richard Codey Today

Thunderstorms could threaten Sunday fun

2) Former New Jersey governor Richard Codey will be at Bookends signing copies of his new book, Me, Governor? at 1:00 p.m. The Democrat briefly took over as the state's top executive after Governor Jim McGreavy resigned amid scandal and served until 2006 before returning to the state senate. Codey, of Roseland, represents the 27th Legislative District (mostly Essex County), actually served another brief stint as governor after Governor John Corzine was seriously injured in a car accident (no helicopters spotted). His new book recounts his experiences in surviving a jungle of Jersey politics for four decades.

3) Sunday has a good chance of repeating the less-than-savory weather of Saturday. There's a chance of thunderstorms before 11 a.m. and then it will be cloudy with a good chance of showers throughout the day. The high will be 78 and the chance of rain is 70 percent.
