Thief Breaks Into 8 Cars In Glen Rock Neighborhood Overnight: Police

An iPad, cash, and other items were taken from at least eight cars in one Glen Rock neighborhood, police said.

GLEN ROCK, NJ — Someone broke into at least eight vehicles in a Glen Rock neighborhood in one night, and may have entered more, police said.

Police said that on Tuesday, June 25, around 4:28 a.m., a Daryl Court resident called police after seeing someone in their vehicle, which was unlocked outside their home.

The person described the intruder as wearing a black hoodie and black pants. The person ran off toward Doremus Avenue when the resident yelled at them, police said.

Police checked the area but couldn't find anyone.

However, that day, residents on 300 and 400 blocks of Doremus Avenue, and on Leone Court and Glen Rock Square, called police to report eight unlocked vehicles that had been entered overnight.

Items taken included an iPad, wallet, $100 in cash, credit cards, and personal identification.

Residents are looking at home video to see if they captured the intruder, police said.

"An attempt to enter a ninth vehicle on the 200 block of Doremus Avenue was unsuccessful as the vehicle in question was locked," police said.
