This Week in Patch: Field Lights Finale, Super Science Saturday and Dads's Night

Theater, education, trips, comedy and politics – this week has it all!

Spring is fast approaching and there are a number of community favorites this week, including Dad's Night, Super Science Saturday, history with some of the county's first families and . . . budget meetings? Ok, not all may be favorites, but check out what's going on here in Ridgewood this week. There's something for everyone.

Monday:

The school board will be voting on the revised  fields use policy after it claimed it didn't have what it needed to vote last go around. The village council then gets a shot at the revised document, which has met the considerable scorn of neighbors of the high school.

  • The Venn Center will be hosting a series of discussions , helping and identity and another talk for adults on .
  • The West Side will be getting a sanitation pickup and Area 5 will have recycling collection.

Tuesday:

Get on the bus and head out courtesy of the Parks and Recreation department, all about Paris in the springtime. The bus leaves the Graydon lot at 8:00 a.m. and comes back at 5:30ish.

Wednesday:

The at 8:00 p.m. for its regularly scheduled public meeting. The Fields Committee will be presenting its pitch on the field policy, which is to be voted on Monday night.

Thursday:

Comedy legend Pat Cooper at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey; the book How Dare You Say How Dare Me is available at Bookends. The signing in Ramsey is at 7 p.m.

  • Sanitation collection will be held on The West Side with Area 7 receiving recycling collection.
  • Blend will be doing Vibe Thursdays with $3 beer and wine and $4 well drinks.

The Weekend:

Village tradition will be held on Friday and Saturday at Ben Franklin Middle School.

  • , an entertaining and informative look at innovations in science for students, will be held at RHS from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Margaret Cardillo, a debut author and former editor of children's books, . The book, Audrey, is available at Bookends and Cardillo will sign copies at 1:00 p.m.
  • There's a show on the at West Side Nursery School on Friday at 3:30 p.m. Jeff Boyer combines music, comedy and science for a show sure to be enjoyed by kids.

    Dr. John Schwandt will be adding at the Ridgewood United Methodist Church at 7:30 p.m.
