Three Young Artists Honored at Art Show
Students at RHS awarded for highly skilled works of art at Scholastic Art Awards.
Three students at Ridgewood High School recently won high honors at the Scholastic Art Awards Northern New Jersey Region for their beautiful pieces. Judges review almost 2300 works submitted by nearly 125 schools across Northern New Jersey. The pieces are reviewed based on originality, technical skill, emergence of personal vision and "Gold Key" works are sent to New York City for national adjudication. The pieces were showcased at the Montclair Art Museum in from February through early March.
The honorees are:
- Anna Byon, Senior: “Egg Study in White” Painting, an Honorable Mention
- Christina Chun, Senior: “Self-Portrait” Drawing, Gold Key winner; “Junk Food” Design, Silver Key
- Vidushi Sharma, Sophomore: “Philippe Petit in the Rain”, a Mixed Media piece, Gold Key
