Thursday: Mentee of Flower Shope Owner Makes NY Times

Protege of Ann Miller-Crawley is pressing New York's floral elite.

1) Ridgewood bouqet business owner Ann Miller-Crawley was called "the mentor" of Emily Thompson, whose floral designs have taken much notice in New York. Thompson was profiled in the March 30 edition of The New York Times. Miller-Crawley is the Ridgewood shop's retail and event director, as well as an award-winning floral designer herself.

2) The field lights were but that was weather-permitting, and as you'll see in item three, the weather isn't looking so hot.

3) Snow coats, rain coats – bring 'em both. Forecasts say there's a chance of rain and snow as you start your morning around 8 a.m. followed by rain. It should be cloudy with a high near 44 degrees, a light wind and 70 percent chance of precipitation.  Snow probably won't accumulate but Thursday night is expected to drop to 32 degrees with 90 percent precipitation and 1 to 3 inches of snow.

4) With such cruddy weather, you might want to catch a movie. Head over to the movie theater a little early

5) The library is welcoming , author of the children's book, The Trouble with Chickens at the Ridgewood Library, co-presented by Bookends. She'll be there at 4:00 p.m.
