Tuesday: Bestselling Author Pete Hamill at Bookends

Journalist and author has written about wars, urban riots, food and just about everything else in the past 50 years

1) New York Times Bestselling author and renowned journalist Pete Hamill will be at Bookends at 7:00 p.m. to sign copies of his new book Tabloid City. We suspect if you have a comic, he might sign that too.

2) The West Side will have rear yard collection while Area 5 will see recycling collection and Area A will see yard waste carted away.

3) The Ridgewood Planning board will meet at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall. The board will hear a few applications (including one that led to COAH spats) and discuss required revisions to the Master Plan, due for 2012.

4) There's a 100 percent chance of rain with the possibility of a thunderstorm on Friday, according to the National Weather Service. It could total anywhere from three quarts to one inch of rain on Tuesday.

5) The County Executive and Board of Chosen Freeholders will be at Bergen Community College for a bullying forum that features keynote speaker Sue Heguy, Clinical Supervisor, Care Plus NJ. Panelists also include legislators, reps from the Anti-Defamation League, a county police detective, a representative from the county prosecutor's office, Garden State Equality, and a variety of other groups. The meeting is at 6:45 p.m.
