Tuesday: Cell Tower Application Hearing Begins

Residents of Barnett Place object to T-Mobile's proposal to put up a 145-foot tower in their neighborhood.

1) T-Mobile (now part of AT&T) wants to improve its service by adding a 145-foot cell tower on the end of Barnett Place. Residents say it will have a detrimental effect on their health as well as property values and quality of life. The telecom company would need to have a zoning variance for the tower to go up–cell towers can currently only be placed in office building zoning.

2) Walt "Clyde" Frazier will be at the Wyckoff YMCA at 7 p.m. for a book signing put on by Bookends. Frazier was supposed to be at Bookends earlier in the winter but had to cancel with inclement weather.

3) The school board presented its 2011-2012 school calendar, which it will likely vote on at its next public meeting.
