Tuesday: Girls Lax in Tournament of Champions Semis

Lady Maroons will face Chatham at Monmouth University campus at 5:00 p.m.

1) The Ridgewood girls lacrosse team will be heading to the beach, but it's not sandcastles and kites. The girls, ranked number one in the state and among the best in the country, will challenge Chatham for the semifinal of the Tournament of Champions in West Long Branch. The Lady Maroons beat Chatham 15-9 in its early-season matchup. The game will be played at 5:00 p.m. at the Monmouth University campus.

2) The Ridgewood Planning board will be meeting at 7:30 p.m. It will hear a continuation of the Korkus case, in which a Ridgewood doctor hopes to build a doctor's office on South Broad Street but will need a few variances to do so.

3) A Mano and Smith Brothers will be two of the local restaurants donating a percentage of the day's receipts to Community Meals on Wheels on Tuesday. For more info, call Community Meals (201) 445-8295

4) As predicted, Ridgewood's Eric Lipkin pleaded guilty for his role in the Madoff ponzi scheme. The 37-year-old portfolio manager of Madoff awaits sentencing but could face up to 70 years in prison.

5) It's going to be a hot one on Wednesday. Forecasters predict it will be 90 degrees with a calm wind. Bring some sunscreen.
