Tuesday: Jesse 'The Body' Ventura in Village on Rainy Day

Former governor (and wrestler) promotes his new book.

1) The G.W. HSA donated a gift of 30 Dell laptops for students worth nearly $29,000, as well as $11,000-plus for cameras and LCD projectors; Willard HSA donated $5,300 to pay for field trips; and the RHS HSA made two separate donations of over $2,500 to help pay for student magazine Genesis, as well as the cost of chaperones for field trips. The high school, like G.W., will also be receiving laptops, but also a refrigerator.

2) will likely be making a ruling on the contentious subdivision application the corner of East Ridgewood Ave and Walthery Ave. Meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at Village Hall.

4) It's gloomy, cloudy and rainy. The National Weather Service predicts Tuesday will feature showers and thunderstorms in the morning with wind gusts up to 29 mph. The temperature should fall to around 49 by 2 p.m. as the rain continues; up to a half inch of rain is possible.

5) The last of the scheduled referendum has been bid. Superintendent Dr. Daniel Fishbein said at the Monday Board of Education meeting that work on G.W. will start Tuesday and "fingers are crossed" that the permits to begin work on Willard will come in quickly and work can begin next week. Board president Michele Lenhard said the first part of the referendum went well and the board is "optimistic" the second half will as well.
