1) The Ridgewood Planning Board on the 975 East Ridgewood Ave application, in which developer Robert Jennee wants to knock down a historic home and put two modern homes in its place. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.
2) A kindergarten teacher, Sara Bauer, of Sara's Preschool, is a finalist for a social media competition on environmental-friendly ideas for Hickory Springs, a furniture maker. The Ridgewood preschool teacher is introducing her students to earthy concepts over the course of March for a "March Green Up" theme, according to trade publication Furniture World.
3) Village resident Alison Stephens was in Trenton last week speaking out on a budget-cutting plan to eliminate teachers for the blind. Stephens has a two-year-old son who is visually impaired and said she worried about the quality of services he will receive. The state insists it will reallocate other areas to provide need and there will be no decline in the quality of care. The state expects to save $1.5 million by cutting 20 teachers working ten months a year.

4) to sign copies of his new book Red: My Uncensored Life in Rock at 1 p.m. An absolute must-see for any fans of Van Halen. We don't, however, recommend you arrive drunk off his "Cabo Wabo" brand tequila (although sources tell us it's pretty good!). David Lee Roth and Eddie Van Halen are not expected to be there.
